“My landlord calls them ‘the ladies.’ 

My landlord calls them “the ladies.” I got a conch shell as a gift and the moment I saw it, I knew I was making a painting. I’ve always had this obsession with shells and water — my whole life right now is just around that. I painted three variations, each catching a different angle of light. The pinks shift from amber to rose depending on where you’re standing. I just had to paint them.
